A North West firm specialising in low carbon and energy efficient buildings has created two new executive level positions as part of its expansion plans.
Beverley Clifton Morris (BCM), based on One Central Street, Manchester, has welcomed Alex Pitman as commercial director and promoted Rich Hart to operations director, with plans for six further recruits to join within the coming months.
Alex Pitman joins from The Co-operative Group, where he reduced the group’s energy consumption by 40% across 5000 sites in his role as energy, environment and engineering manager. His role at BCM will see him strategically develop the business, through generating new offerings and services, building new partnerships and maximising existing relationships.
Alex said: “I’m excited to have joined BCM and I am looking forward to using my existing skills and experience to develop the low carbon ethos amongst organisations via BCM. I see BCM as a successful, yet growing company with a strong future and I look forward to being a part of that.”
Rich Hart joined BCM in 2005 as a graduate and his nine year career to date is an example of BCM’s internal training and development ethos and career progression opportunities. As operations director, Hart will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects ensuring BCM maintains its current trend of securing repeat business.
Rich said: “The next 12 months promises to be an exciting time for BCM and our clients as we intend to stay at the front of the market place by investment in our team and infrastructure. Much of our success to date has revolved around choosing the right people to front our projects and our strategy to recruit the top university graduates will enable this to continue in the long term.”
BCM's managing director, Brian Morris, said: “These appointments come as part of our strategic expansion inline with our growth plans both within the North West and nationally. We already have significant demand for our low carbon services in London and are currently advancing our plans to establish an office in the capital.
With Alex coming in from a client background, he brings a client perspective to the Board and our customer focused service offer, as well as enhancing our sustainable and carbon aware credentials. He will be leading our planned growth over the coming years.
Rich is one of our longest serving employees and his progression from ‘graduate to director’ is a prime example of our development programme and career opportunities on offer.”
These executive appointments are a prelude to the appointment of four engineers over the coming months, which along with two Liverpool John Moores University Knowledge Transfer Partnership placements, will bring BCM’s headcount to 24. BCM plans to grow by 25% this year and build on that growth in the following year.
