Daisy Haye wows visitors with design and innovation

Visitors to Daisy Haye, the 88 apartment retirement living development in Leek, have been left wowed by the facilities on offer as well as the communal facilities open to the local community.

The development built on Ball Haye Lane is part of the successful Ascent programme - the partnership between Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Your Housing Group and will allow those over 55 to live an active life independently for longer, in a safe and secure development full of like-minded people.

Designed with the individual in mind, the support team will provide help and support that is flexible to meet their needs, providing a safe and secure environment and most importantly, giving residents peace of mind.

Local dignitaries and community groups were invited to tour the recently completed development to see what Daisy Haye has to offer.

One visitor commented “Daisy Haye is first rate and long overdue in the area. The accommodation is excellent and the communal facilities will be a welcome addition to the local community. “The décor is modern, light and airy and gives a very homely feeling to the whole development, combine this with a hair and beauty salon and a community bistro – Leek has never been so spoilt”

Daisy Haye will also include a bistro, hairdressers, communal lounge, laundrette, and a multi-functional activity room. Both the hairdressers and bistro will also be open for use by local Leek residents.

Councillor Gill Burton, cabinet member for communities at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, said: “This is a real milestone for Leek. Daisy Haye offers quality accommodation with state-of-the-art features at affordable prices for local people. I hope people take the opportunity to visit and see for themselves what is available on their doorsteps and I look forward to seeing the first residents move in, I know that it will make a real difference to the quality of life for all its residents.”

Abi Jacobs, Contracts Manager for Your Housing Group adds “It’s an exciting time for Leek, not only are we opening Daisy Haye we have also recently given the local community the keys to their new community centre on the Haregate estate”. She added “The Ascent programme is achieving what it was set up to do – building new homes and strengthening communities across Staffordshire Moorlands”.
