One of the marketing team behind Wirral Waters, the UK’s largest regeneration project, has been named as a rising star of the property industry by the British Property Federation (BPF).
Aimee Bessant, marketing account manager for Peel Land and Property, was announced as the winner of the Collaboration Award at the Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards 2018 and was presented with her award at the BPF President’s Lunch in London last week.
The BPF Tomorrow’s Leaders Awards celebrate the UK real estate industry’s rising stars and Aimee was chosen by a panel of expert judges for the collaborative contribution she has made to the redevelopment of Wirral Waters, near Birkenhead.
The award is given to a team, individual or project working within the property sector that has achieved something in partnership that would not have been possible if the partners had been working alone.
As part of the Peel Land and Property marketing team, Aimee has been involved with a number of collaborative, marketing and community focussed projects at Wirral Waters which have been designed to engage local people from different sectors of the community in the dockside regeneration project.
Aimee's nomination included her contribution to “... and the river flows on” cultural project, part of the dockside regeneration at Wirral Waters.
Situated on the side of the East Float Dock in Birkenhead “...and the river flows on” is a series of six mural panels produced by members of the local community in Birkenhead in 2015/16, thanks to a grant from Arts Council England to Wirral Methodist Housing Association.
More than 300 local people of all ages took part in the arts project which tells the maritime story of the Birkenhead side of the Mersey from its earliest days, through 100 years of trading and dock work to future developments with the return of wild life to the river and a new and exciting environment where people will live and work in Wirral Waters.
Aimee Bessant, marketing account manager for Peel Land and Property, said: “I am delighted to have been chosen for this award and would like to thank the judges for recognising the high level of collaboration taking place at Wirral Waters.
“Collaboration with local people to create a better place to live, visit and work is a priority for all of us in the Wirral Waters team.”
Richard Mawdsley, director of development at Peel Land and Property, said: “We are all thrilled that Aimee’s work has been recognised by the BPF. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at Wirral Waters as it is the best way of developing a truly amazing place to live, learn, work and have fun.
“We are very grateful to the judges and the BPF for recognising Aimee’s efforts and for supporting and highlighting the fantastic work that is going on at Wirral Waters.”
