Knowlsey regeneration scheme paves way for new homes

Construction has begun at Countryside’s Highfield Green development, forming part of the £200m regeneration of Kirkby, led by Knowsley Council and its partners.

The move on site will see Countryside embark on an ambitious new scheme that will bring 200 three-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes to the area, two of which have already been reserved off-plan.

Forming part of a wider initiative to bring 583 new Countryside homes into the borough, Highfield Green will bring a wealth of benefits into the area, including circa 30 acres of public open space and recreational facilities.

Philip Whitehead, Regional Regeneration Director at Countryside, commented: “This is a very exciting project for Countryside. Knowsley Council have set out a very impressive regeneration strategy for the town, for which Highfield Green will play a crucial role in the rejuvenation of Tower Hill.

“Highfield Green is set to provide high quality and affordable homes for both families and first time buyers, whilst helping to transform the area into a vibrant and welcoming community for years to come.“

Countryside underwent a detailed tender process before Knowsley Council named it as the preferred partner, with Countryside proving that it was ready and able to meet the design and format requirements, as well as ensuring a mixed tenure, various employment and training opportunities and wider community benefits.

Knowsley Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, Cllr Mike Murphy, said: “Our partnership with Countryside is helping to deliver our vision of increasing the choice of high quality housing in Knowsley.

“I visited the Highfield Green site recently and it is already clear that this will be a first class development, which will really enhance the Tower Hill area. I’m particularly pleased to see the balance between new housing and public open space and I know this development will prove to be extremely popular with house-hunters from Knowsley and those wanting to move to the borough from elsewhere.“

Due to launch later this year, house hunters will be able to view three of Countryside’s most popular show home designs at the Shevington’s Lane development just in time for Christmas.

Situated just two miles from Kirkby town centre, each of the new homes has been designed to a high quality specification and will offer local families the unique opportunity to be part of the area’s impressive transformation at an affordable price.
