During the fundraiser at the housebuilder’s Sanderson Manor development, in Hauxton, staff served up coffee and cakes ‘on the house’ and Ely-based Liz Ungless, from Sugar Design, gave a cake decorating demonstration.
Staff at Redrow Homes (South Midlands) headquarters in Northampton also joined in the fun with their own coffee morning.
Tonia Tyler, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “It was great to see so many people turn out for the coffee morning at Sanderson Manor. It was a real community event with lots of local residents from Hauxton and the surrounding area joining our homeowners and staff for such a worthy cause. We’re grateful to everyone who offered their support either by making a donation or providing cakes. A big thank you goes to Liz from Sugar Design who donated her time to give a cake demonstration during the event.
“The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer and almost everyone who took part either on site or in the regional office had their own personal reasons for supporting the charity.”
The first Macmillan coffee morning was held in 1990 and since then it’s raised £165.5 million including £29.5 million last year alone.
