Redrow Homes South Midlands, currently building at Alconbury Weald, on Bardolph Way, officially presented the Huntingdonshire Child and Family Centre’s PEEP group with a £150 donation.
The funds will cover the purchase of activity packs for up to 20 children aged two to four to kickstart their learning and start uncovering their potential early in life. The resources will be given throughout the year on each child’s birthday.
Fiona Sweetenham, family tutor at the Huntingdonshire Child and Family Centre’s PEEP group, said: “We are really grateful for Redrow’s donation, and we can’t wait to see the children’s reactions when they get their birthday present.
“We always try to ensure that local children get every opportunity to succeed, while showing parents that there are a lot of creative activities that can be done at home together for little to no cost. On behalf of everyone at the group, I would like to say a big thank you to the Redrow team for its support.”
Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes South Midlands, said: “We were delighted to be able to support the PEEP group’s initiative, giving children a head start in life through arts and crafts, while offering parents the resources they need to organise more creative activities at home.
“Arts and crafts are an essential part of a child’s development. They can help them develop their creativity while giving them valuable problem-solving skills, which are essential in the housebuilding industry. We are proud to play a part in these pupils’ futures – who knows, there might be a future Redrow designer among them!”
Located in the north of Huntingdon, Alconbury Weald provides a unique environment for families. With many schools and community facilities nearby, the development also has its own town centre and offers 600 acres of open spaces, woodlands and parks.
