Manchester-based design studio, Youth, presents No Age – an open exhibition exploring the value of collaboration and designing for culture not demographic.

The three day public exhibition will take place from 11th to 13th December at The Basement, 184 Deansgate, and will debate the future of design of Manchester, igniting a conversation around the rapid development of the city and lack of direction over what is being created.

On Wednesday 12th December from 19:00 to 21:00, Youth will host an open discussion between some of Manchester’s most progressive creatives including; barbers NotJust, visual artist MenikMati and photographer Alexander Bather; whose studios are defined by the vision to see beyond design as a service and instead, create concepts that shape and influence both lifestyles and cultures.

Each studio will discuss their inspiration for starting up and the challenges they’ve faced by not complying to the norm. Space are limited, to reserve your seat sign up here.

Launched in 2016 by then 24-year olds, Liam McGroarty and Oliver Collinge, Youth is a brand aiming to challenge the creative industry. Looking to break down industry and sector barriers and stand boldly at the intersection of design, culture and commerce. In just under three years, the duo have built a global portfolio with a combined value of £500million, including the interior design of 570 apartments at Kampus, part of Manchester’s ‘vibrant new cultural district.’

To mark three years of collaboration, Youth is hosting No Age to explore how design can positively push boundaries. The open exhibition will be open from 12pm to 6pm, 11th to 13th December 2018 at The Basement, 184 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3WB.

"In a time of rapid development within our cities there's a lack of direction in what is being created. Design is being driven by numbers and demographics rather than driving cultures."
Oliver Collinge
